About
Bloggst is an online community and resource center created exclusively for bloggers. What does that mean? While some might say that bloggers connect and interact through their blogs, we believe that we're not the only ones looking for a nice and organized community where we can discuss blogging amongst ourselves, and exchange tips and ideas on how we can make our blogs as successful as possible.
Wait, so you're saying Bloggst is just a forum?
Well yes, and no. While it might not stand out too much from the average dime-a-dozen discussion foruma out there on the web, we aim to offer features that will help bloggers interact with eachothers with an emphasis on public discussions. The reason for this is simple, we want the fruits of the discussions to be available to all bloggers who are looking to improve their blogs, and we want to give everyone a chance to have a word in the discussions, should they have something to add. For this very reason, a forum is the most ideal way to go.
We do however have a host of features that seperates us from the rest, and improves the experience you get when interacting with fellow bloggers. Being aware of these features is also essential to maximize your experience when visiting Bloggst, and therefore we will outline the most important ones here.Content!
Apart from just being a place to network with fellow bloggers, we also aim to improve your blogging experience by offering you an all-exclusive content section. Our News section we cover the latest events from the blogging scene, and every weekday we update our Articles section with new content that will help you improve yourself as a blogger.
Promote your blog in our Live Directory!
Apart from the fact that you can include links to your own blogs in your signature that will be displayed in your profile and below all your posts, you can add your blog to our automated post fetching system. See that list of "Latest Blog Posts" on your right? Those are all posts from our registered members' blogs, and you can have the latest posts from your own blog listed there as well should you decide to register . Once you've signed up, you can find the instructions on how to get your blog included in our "live directory" on this page .
Connectwork!
Okay, that's really just a word we made up by combining connect and network, but if it was an actual word it would have described some of our key features really well. By communicating with other members in public and private you will be able to make new connections that can serve you and your blog well. But that wouldn't do you much good if you keep forgetting all about who you connect with, would it? For that reason we have implemented an enhanced profile system, that not only let's you keep track of all of your Bloggst buddies, but it also lets share your information with others who might be interested in getting to know you. Almost sounds a bit like social networking, doesn't it? As if that wasn't enough, when browsing through the forums you can easily find posts by your friends by spotting the friend-star as we like to call it, right next to their usernames.
Tag, tag, tag!
Everybody loves tags, and what can possibly be cooler than tagging every thread you make in the forum? Tags have proved to be more than just an internet fad consisting of a bunch of words mashed together. It's an easy way to brand the things you write, and they also make it easy to find everything you're looking for when it comes to a certain keyword or topic. Just look it up in our Tags section!
Rate and filter posts!
This one we're quite proud of. Our entire system is enhanced by a rating feature that lets you rate every post you read. It also lets you filter out posts with low ratings, so that you never have to read low-quality posts again! We also like to keep scores, so each member will accumulate a rating based on how their posts are rated, and this score can be seen in the profile of each member. This way it's easy to see which members that actually contribute, and if someone keeps bothering you with low quality posts you might want to add them to your ignore list? That way you never have to see their ramblings again.
We want your input!
Bloggst is brand new, and we're just getting started. Every day we keep thinking up new ideas and features on how we can improve and make it cooler for you to be a part of this community. We are however all about the members, and providing you guys with what you want, and therefore we need your opinions on what you would like to see from us in the future. Over at the Feedback forum you have a chance to shape what the future of Bloggst looks like by posting your ideas and opinions. Don't hesitate, get busy and start finding out what features you want us to provide you in order to improve your blogging experience!
